The grounds also feature entry gates featuring impressive Islamic calligraphy works rich in diversity but seamlessly unifying multiple architectural styles from all over India, including Hindu, Persian, Buddhist, and Mughal elementsIt makes this attraction hard to beat!

Red Fort

The Red Fort is one of India’s most iconic and well-preserved historical attractions, and it was built in 1648 by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. This masterpiece of red sandstone construction symbolizes power, strength, and resilience for the people of India. It is located in the heart of old Delhi and stands at about 33 meters (108 feet). It was once a palace for Shah Jahan’s family and a military structure.

Beautiful Islamic architectural features within its walls include ornate marble palaces, courtyards, fortifications, and gardens that have been meticulously preserved since their construction. Visitors to the Red Fort will also be able to explore more than 14 gates to gain an insight into the culture and history behind this ancient fortification.

Qutub Minar

India’s Qutub Minar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in New Delhi, the capital of India. It is an architectural feat consisting of an old 73-meter tall red sandstone tower and five other structures that date back to 1192 AD.

Various Muslim Sultans of the Slave Dynasty built Qutub Minar. The entire complex was constructed over two centuries, from the 12th to the 14th century. Each successive king contributed to it by adding new features or compounds to the structure or altering the existing ones.

Qutub Minar is considered one of India’s most outstanding landmarks and is a symbol of ancient Islamic architecture in India and South Asia.

The base of Qutub Minar is surrounded by several other monuments, including Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Alai Darwaza, Ala’i Minar, Iron Pillar from Gupta Empire, Sand Stone Pillars, Minor Tomb Memorials, and many other small monuments scattered all around its complex making this place an ideal spot not just for tourists but also for our local historians studying pre-Islamic rulers who have such notable imprints on the architectures here archeologically significant antiquities and motifs that are generally older than those found in Central Asia and North Africa.

The engravings that adorn Qutub Minar indicate a deep understanding of Islamic architecture combined with Hindu styles inscribed onto its walls showing how two different cultures were merged to create something unique here, which stands strong even today, seemingly immune against harsh weather changes that it has faced for more than 800 years now. A must-visit for someone seeking this kind of experience!
